He feels very small; he feels 33 years old, torn between homes once more; he almost can't bring himself to lift his head and meet Susato's eyes, but he owes it to her to look up, to get to his feet. He has been owed this child more since the day she was born.
At the same time, Susato's child doppelganger seems to sense... herself. She wavers, her cries ebbing down to mere whimpers, even as the baby in her arms continues to squall, railing tiny fists in the air.
'I want,' she sniffles, 'to stay with Grandma. Me and my new sister...'
