[ Shifting through the vast, barren, scorching span of the Wastelands, where the sun is unforgiving and rogue demons and spirits might attack with little warning given, Akira might be drawn to the distinct scent of blood in the air. Should he follow this scent, he'll arrive at the aftermath of what looks to be a fierce battle. Laying motionless in the sand, amid a pool of blood, is a large snake youkai, and two figures stand over it - a large, werewolf-like creature, and a young man. ]
You can eat. [ Without a moment of hesitation, the wolf creature starts tearing into that youkai's corpse, swallowing its flesh and absorbing its nutrients. The youkai within the city have actual sentience; they manage stores, mingle at restaurants and bring their young ones to the park. The ones out here and more akin to wild beasts, no different than a curse, and for that reason Megumi feels little guilt over what he's allowing his dogs to do. It attacked him first, so it should be prepared for a retaliation.
When he senses another presence, the boy goes on high alert, his adrenaline still pumping from the fight he was just in. He turns immediately, sword in hand and bared, every muscle on edge like he's ready and willing to attack if the need arises. Nobody can really blame him. The other presence that he can sense has an aura that feels very inhuman - demon-like, for sure. After fighting off a wild youkai, it's easy to make the mistake. Though his voice is in monotone, he gives off the aura of a threatened cat ready to strike. ]
