Where I come from, eight years ago these black doors began appearing around the world. Through them are what we call 'dungeons,' places where monsters live and will break out of unless they are cleared. The ones who enter and conquer them are called 'Hunters'; people who awakened with special abilities after the dungeons started appearing.
Before all of that though, I'd say my world was fairly normal.
